Currently, I have 10 years old Viking fiberglass pool; due to poor installation, the pool has several cracks (the largest crack is 8 feet across the pool), the walls are bulged and a lot of air pockets on the pool floor. It’s a kidney shape about 7 feet deep and 35 feet long and 15 feet across with a shallow end of 3.5 feet. I am very impressed with your knowledge and the installation process. I have neither gravel bed nor sand for back fill around the pool. Would like to hear an advice from the readers to transform my pool to functional pool.

Could use some help. At what water temperature is best for the pool chemicals to work. Does temp even have a effect or is it just the balance of the chemicals and ph?

We have 2 drains at the deep end of a fiber glass pool one is turning rust color and discoloring the pool. any advice?

It could be a form of mold that migrates through the liner. Try putting a chlorine tablet directly on the liner in the middle of one of the dark patches for about 10 minutes. If the spot is lighter when you remove the tablet, then it means that the mold (which is alive) has retreated away from that spot. Then you can be sure that it is the mold.
I’ve never run into this problem directly, as it is very very rare and specific to certain regions (not mine) … but I think the only solution is new liner and you’d have to do some sort of chemical preparation before installing the new liner. I may be wrong though – and if you can identify it as a mold issue – maybe someone can give you better alternative to fix it.

Try adding chlorine directly to the stain. We had the same problem a few years ago and it surprisely worked

our pool water is very blue but cloudy. we”ve added several chemicals and just added clarifer. that was yesterday what do we do now? thank you in advance for any advise you can share.
